Dogs Helping Kids is a huge believer in working closely with other awesome organisations and charities. There are so many charities and organisations doing incredible work with dogs and children across the country, all with really high welfare standards. The following are the ones we feel are amazing and are worthwhile spending some time going through their websites and learning more about them :-

All-party Parliamentary Dog Advisory Welfare Group

APDAWG is an All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) set up in 2017 to explore, highlight, discuss and challenge dog-related activities, legislation, and trends with the overall aim of improving the health and welfare of the UK's dogs and dog owners, and society in general.

APDAWG meetings take place in Portcullis House (opposite Big Ben) usually every quarter. Meetings take the style of informal presentations about dog welfare topics followed by discussion encouraging further positive legislative change to improve UK dog welfare.

Treat Me Kind International

TREAT ME KIND International is working to end cruelty to animals in the UK and abroad, by raising awareness about animal neglect and suffering. There are three core areas which are; horse welfare, animals used for entertainment and companion animals. Our vision is a world where every animal is treated with respect, dignity and kindness. We help to raise awareness about animal welfare in the UK and abroad through educational campaigns and promoting the humane treatment of animals.

During 2014 a group of people founded TREAT ME KIND International and set up the Charity to advocate animal protection and build a universal understanding about human-animal bonds and relationships. As an animal protection organisation we are working to encourage kindness towards them and help end cruelty through our campaigns and programs. We believe that every animal deserves respect, dignity and kindness;

Respect - showing empathy and humanity to animals
Dignity - respecting and honouring an animal's life
Kindness - nurturing compassion towards animals

Veterans With Dogs

Veterans With Dogs trains and provides assistance dogs exclusively for current and former members of the British Armed Forces with service-related mental health conditions. Veterans With Dogs was founded for the purpose of training fully accredited assistance dogs to help mitigate the symptoms of mental health difficulties for our Veterans and active-duty service members.

Veterans With Dogs' assistance dog programme is the first of its' kind in the UK. The PALS Programme to train and provide assistance dogs for mental health is just one adjunct to treatment that is having a profound effect on helping Veterans to increase their quality of life and regain independence.

Specially trained assistance dogs help Veterans with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and other mental health conditions, cope better with their symptoms and enabling them to lead more independent lives.
